Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh said received the information about a decomposing body of a woman and found it inside the bed in a house in the Janakpuri area with her mouth wrapped with a white tape.
After questioning the parents and relatives of the deceased, the cops found that the husband of the deceased was absconding with his mobile phones switched off, Singh added.
Based on the facts, a case was registered in the matter and with the help of technology, he was tracked down in Delhi after returning from Punjab to eliminate his wife’s friend.
During interrogation, Dhanraj disclosed that he is a habitual drinker and earns very little while his wife, Deepa Chauhan, was working at a private firm and bearing all their expenses. However, her friendship with another man was a bone of contention between them. They used to often fight over her relationship with her male friend.
On December 29, when they were fighting over the matter, he strangled his wife to death. After killing her, inspired by videos on youtube, he planned to cut her body into pieces and dispose of it at some secluded place. He wrapped her mouth with white tape to delay the decomposition and hid the body inside the bed at his rented accommodation.
He had sought the help of his friends in disposing of the body. However, no one came forward to help him in the execution of his plan.
After the murder, Dhanraj went to Agra and returned to Delhi before embarking on a journey to Jaipur and then to Amritsar.
